Eduardo "Lalo" Villarreal ran service stations in Kingsville through the '70s and '80s before landing on tires in the late '90s. He opened Ed's Auto Care on September 5th, 1998, and spent his life doing mechanic work — teaching his son Jaime everything he knew along the way.

In June 2008, an electrical fire burned the shop to the ground. Lalo was fighting a brain tumor at the time. The family rebuilt from scratch and reopened in April 2009, but Lalo passed on April 14th, 2009, just weeks later. He never got to see the new shop.

Jaime has run it ever since, alongside his sons Ruben and Jacob — both of whom learned the trade as kids and work the bays as men. Same family, same corner, same standard Lalo set. Wheels and tires are all we do now, and we do them right.
